Gonzalo Centelles

Born in Barcelona in 1980, he studied at the prestigious Llotja School (founded in 1775) and at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Barcelona. His incredible paintings of sporting events, restaurants, bar scenes, cityscapes, and characters painted with a myriad of emotions set him apart from many artists. His paintings expound subtle messages of current political issues and social trends together with the simple daily emotions that human beings wrestle with. Centelles presents these scenes and situations very directly to the viewer, leaving no doubt about his subject matter. Using a large canvas and mixed media techniques, Centelles' use of colors with a brilliant sense of perspective is unique among young and emerging artists. Complementing his massive talent, It is evident in his works that Centelles has also learned the technical aspects from his years of fine art study.
